About EE

EE has spearheaded the digital transformation of the UK’s mobile industry. The network has a track record of being the first to bring in new data standards (it’s already begun trialling 5G and will likely roll it out in 2019). What’s more, its network has the widest national coverage with few blackspots in the UK.

EE might not be the cheapest network, but it provides a high standard of service. For example, its data speeds are faster than other operators. What’s more, in 2017 EE won the uSwitch award for Best Network Coverage and Fastest Mobile Network.

EE FAQs

How do I know if an EE mobile deal is any good?

When comparing EE phone deals on monthly contracts, pay attention to detail – just because an offer is cheaper doesn’t mean you’ll get more for your money. Here are five things to look out for when making certain a deal is a great find…

1.      Data allowance

Now it’s easy to make calls and send messages online, you should prioritise data over texts and minutes. As a guide, 1GB of data will be enough for occasionally browsing the web and sending emails. But, if you’re regularly scrolling your social feeds and streaming media, you’ll want an EE phone deal with 3GB or more.

To better understand your data allowance needs, use the EE data calculator.

2.      Contract length

Occasionally, you’ll see cheap monthly payments that seem too good to be true. Then, you notice the length of the contract is 30 months and realise you were right. Try not to get tied into a contract for long – the longer you’re bound to a contract the longer it’ll be before you can upgrade.

3.      Overseas charges

Sky-high international rates can make a cheap trip away painfully expensive. If you’re planning to travel outside of the EU, verify how much it’ll cost to use your minutes, texts and data when away.

EE phone deals on flagship mobiles, like the Samsung S8, include free event tickets. The tickets are worth up to £140 and are mostly for events at the (EE sponsored) Wembley Stadium.

Freebies available to all EE customers include a six-month subscription to Apple Music and a three-month subscription to BT Sport. Just remember to cancel your registration at the end of the free period, otherwise you’ll start paying a monthly fee.

5.      Unwanted add-ons

While it’s terrific receiving extras when they’re free, the same can’t be said when add-ons come at a price. If an EE phone deal is going to charge you for more data, texts and minutes than you need, give it the thumbs down.

Where has the best EE phone deals?

With each retailer running separate offers, where to find the best EE phone deal changes day-to-day. That said, some retailers focus on promoting the latest handsets while others keep deals running on older models. If you’re looking for a cheap mobile, you’ll want to focus your search on the latter.

Mobiles.co.uk is one of the best stores at running offers on old and new mobiles alike. To find a variety of EE price plans, these guys are a good bet.

Which EE SIM only deals are the best?

If you’ve bought a handset outright, or finished your existing contract and are happy with the phone you have, you’ll want a SIM only deal.

The best EE SIM only deals are referred to as ‘Pay As You Go SIM only’ (PAYG). These are short, one-month contracts that roll over at the end of each month. As these SIMs are flexible (only requiring one month’s notice to cancel) you’re not tied to a contract and can swap to another network with ease.

When buying a SIM from EE, don’t worry about it being the right size for your device; EE will send you all three sizes (standard, nano and micro).

Does EE have phone deals for people who travel often?

Yes, if you buy an EE Max Plan you can use your data in several countries outside of the EU, just like you would at home. The plan includes the following non-EU countries: USA, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.

If you’re on an EE Essential Plan, you have the option of buying a Travel Data Pass when abroad. The Pass gives you a daily limit of 500MB of data and costs £4.80 per day in North America or £6 per day elsewhere. It’s not cheap, but signing up will stop you incurring any surprise charges when you return to the UK.

EE Phone Deals - Samsung

EE phone deals for Android

EE’s best Android deals are on Samsung phones. If you want a premium handset, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy S8+ for under £50 per month. Or, if you’re looking for a cheap EE deal, you can find several older Galaxy models for £15 per month.

EE phone deals for iPhone

If you want to buy an iPhone on EE, don’t buy directly from the network. Instead, go to other phone retailers, such as Carphone Warehouse, who have cheaper EE iPhone deals.

Are there EE mobile deals for new customers only?

From time to time, EE will release voucher codes for new customers exclusively. These voucher codes will give you an extra reward for choosing EE.

In the past, the codes have activated a range of gifts, including free Amazon vouchers and 500MB per month of extra data. If we see these new customer specials pop up, we’ll be sure to list them here.

Does EE have phone deals for existing customers only?

Yes, like there are EE phone deals reserved for new customers, there are other EE offers for existing customers. Currently, EE is offering customers 10% off any new contract they take out in addition to their existing one.  The promo is useful for parents buying additional contracts for their children, or anyone buying another device from EE, like a tablet.

How long do you have to cancel an EE phone contract?

You have seven days to cancel your EE contract without incurring a cancellation charge. All you need to do is give them a call to notify them of your cancellation and return the handset in good condition.

If you want to cancel at a later point, you’ll have to pay an Early Cancellation Charge. The longer you have left on your contract, the more you’ll have to pay.
